The first video I am going to talk about is a song called Schöne Seele by Crooks UK.
Here is the link to the video:
I am going to be talking about Lighting in this video. I really like the use of Sunlight coming through a window as the main source of light in the video. I would really like to incorporate this into our final video. Also Crooks use tall lamps to also lighten the room along with the sunlight. I like the use of lamps as it gives the video a kind of vintage feel as well as being the only source of light when they use the dark Filter which I also really like. If we where to incorporate the filter and the lamp being the only source of light in the video we would have to use colour gels over the lights we will use in our video.
The second video I am going to talk about is Actors by Don broco.

I am going to talk about the editing in this video. The main thing I like about the editing in this video is that different range of editing techniques. One editing technique I really liked and I would like to incorporate into my own video is a white fade out between shots. I found this technique interesting and the use of it in the video made me want to use it in my own music video.

Point 6 - Our track, the genre of this track and the lyric video to this track
Our track is Secrets by State Champs. The genre of this track is Pop Punk. The history of pop-punk cannot be neatly explained and packaged into a tight little box. It's complicated, messy, and spills over into multiple genres among fusing with others. It's not easy to understand unless you're someone with deep roots and a serious interest in the scene, but it's manageable.

Lip Syn and Band Sync
At the start of the course we watched lots of clips of music videos in class and talked about lip sync, band sync and single shot. Here is my research on 2 music videos on lip sync band sync and single shot
David Bowie Lets Dance Lip Syncing and Band Syncing
- Band Syncing was shocking. Guitar was used mostly as a prop and double bass was completely out of time.
- Lip Syncing was pretty good i didn't notice any faults
Killer Queen- Queen- top of the pops 1974
- band and lip sync are on point. Band looks towards Freddie Mercury the lead singer for guidance of syncing in my opinion. Apart from that the syncing is well disguised.
What is the difference between a celebrity and a star?
Point 5: Music video director
Jonas Åkerlund
Renowned Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund has made his mark with his distinctive storytelling and visually driven signature style that often pushes the boundaries of the status quo. He is an internationally awarded director of music videos, commercials, documentaries, stage shows and feature films. Jonas’ music videos have earned him several Grammy Awards, an Icon Award, MTV Video Music Awards (including Best Director) and the prestigious MVPA Hall of Fame Award including an MVPA win for the music video for Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi.” He has been in the industry since the late 1990s to the present day. He has also worked with the likes of: Ozzy Osborne, Robbie Williams and Madonna.
Point 4- Paul McCartney Star Icon Research
Sir Paul McCarntey was born James Paul McCartney in Liverpool in 1942. Sir Pauls beloved mother died very suddenly and unexpectedly from breast cancer when he was just 14. He was devastated by this tragic loss and turned to music and writing songs in order to try and come to terms with his mother’s death. A short while later, he was performing music at a local church fete, when he happened to meet a fellow budding musician called John Lennon. At that time, Lennon had already formed his own band, called The Quarrymen, and he was so impressed by Sir Paul’s guitar skills and versatile singing ability that he invited him to come and join his band. Over the course of the next few years, Lennon added George Harrison and Pete Best to the line-up and the band changed its name to The Beatles.

After the Beatles Sir Paul created a band called Wings. Wings were a rock band formed in 1971 by Paul McCartney with his wife Linda McCartney, session drummer Denny Seiwell, and former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine.
He made himself an icon mostly through the Beatles by his bowl cut haircut and the way he always wore a suit along with the others members of the Beatles. This made him an icon because the Beatles where the first big boy band to emerge from pop music and a lot of boy bands today started because of the Beatles. However a massive factor that boosted his iconography is his relationship history. He was always in the media for being in and out of relationships very quickly over a short space of time. However one of his partners Linda McCartney influenced his iconography the most out of all his ex partners in my opinion. One of the reasons I believe she boosted his iconography is that she started a family with Sir Paul and gave him a legacy. However during his relationship with Linda his fans where not very keen on her and didn't think she was very good for him.
Another reason why Sir Paul McCarntey is an icon is because he was seen as the main artist of the Beatles. This did help his iconography however its not necessarily true… Sir Paul did write the music along with John Lennon however George Harrison and Pete Best didn't just play what they where told to play all the time. They also helped writing lyrics e.t.c. So in a way this isn't a very good reason why it has boosted his iconography because it is not necessarily true.
